OUR CHURCHS HISTORY Bethel Baptist Church began with Sunday School being held in the home of a lady named Mrs. Hann in December of 1954. In 1955, approximately 55 people were meeting in the home of Pastor Andy Duty. Later, they used a small building that was provided for them. This could only be used in the day time, so the evening services were still held in the Pastors home. On January 3, 1956 the church was officially organized, the name adopted, and Pastor Andy Duty was officially called. In the late sixties, Rexford D. Furman became the pastor of Bethel and saw the congregation move from Antelope Acres to Lancaster. The church moved to the YMCA due to the need of larger facilities and in 1978 land was purchased and the existing church was built. The day school ministry began the following year and has been an integral part of this churchs ministry ever since. On December of 1996, Pastor Furman took a call to become the Pastor of a church in Everett, Washington. Presently, the church is seeking Gods wisdom as we are searching for the man of God to lead this congregation.
